DIY 4th of July

So...I'm not normally the patriotic wear red, white, and blue type. BUT, I found a really cool idea on Pinterest (of course) that I liked and so I decided this year ALL willing participants (or those I force) will be wearing patriotic shirts. Of course when I showed Robby the idea he asked if he had to wear one (party pooper). I told him no....I got the idea from seeing this picture. There wasn't a tutorial linked, so I just kinda winged it!

What you'll need:
  • White shirt (I actually used old kinda stained ones)
  •  Red spray paint
  • Painters tape
  • Blue paint (I had a little bottle of the crafters type paint)
  • Sponge
  • Paper stars

Used tape to create the stripes and covered the star area with paper so it wouldn't get sprayed red.

Bebe gets one too!

All spray painted.

With everything removed.

I just cut out little stars and put tape on the back to keep them in place.

Bebe's shirt all done. I think it's cute!

I think they turned out cute! They're kinda messy and imperfect but that's the idea. The only woopsie I can say is that I didn't bring the tape all the way to the edge on the arm and it kinda looks dumb just ending like it does. But I'm hoping on it won't look so obviously since it won't be laying flat. It's kinda cheesy and corny but hey...We're gonna look patriotic! Look for a post later in the week with our shirts. :-)
