Valentine's Day

Another Valentine’s Day has come and gone, except these days I actually enjoy the holiday. I mean…Who doesn’t love getting flowers, candy, and doted upon all day? I DO! And that might be because my husband is so good at it. He knows how to make me happy and feel special for sure!

My sweet hunk of a man always seems to do something a little different and a little out of the ordinary to catch me off guard. This Valentine’s Day started with me being awoken with a plate of what I thought were pink cookies…Turns out there were heart shaped pink pancakes!

First of all, I love pancakes, and second I think if I had wanted to my hubby would have let me eat them in bed. But I wanted to get up to start my day of love with the two men in my life. After all…It WAS someone’s first Valentine’s Day

I’m the kind of girl who likes milk with my pancakes, so when I went to get the milk out of the fridge I found a piece of pink paper underneath the milk, this is how the conversation went down:

Me: “Um…There is a piece of pink paper under the milk…”
Robby: “Ohhh really?”
Me: “Can…I…take it out?”
Robby: “Yes, you will find that around the house I have hidden little pink and red hearts…The pink ones say why I love you, and the red ones are attributes that I love about you…So have fun searching!”

I LOVE when he does things like this! It’s so much fun and he knows I enjoy silly things like this. After 4 years he certainly knows me! J

Pink-Why he loves me
1.      You love being around me!
2.      You are the mother of my child
3.      We like the same things
4.      You are my best friend
5.      We fit together like 2 peas in a pod!
6.      You comfort me when I need to be comforted
7.      You support me, no matter what
8.      We have fun together

Red- Attributes he loves
1.      Fun
2.      Caring
3.      Beautiful
4.      Sexy
5.      Nurturing
6.      Ambitious
7.      Helpful
8.      Loving

My husband is pretty much the best ever J At least once a month I ask Robby why he loves me…And usually I demand a list right on the spot. He usually can give me a few things and it satisfies me, but now I’ve got a whole list to reflect back on and I just love it. That is the great thing about loving someone and being in their life; when you get to find ways to make them happy and show them just how much you truly love them. Anyway…You could say pancakes and sweet nothings on cute hearts my hubby cut out satisfied me (but don’t tell him that…Flowers and candy are a nice perk too!)

Better than candy, flowers, pancakes, and heart shaped love notes was the fact that Robby had the day off. It was fabulous to be able to spend the day with him and our little chunk-a-munk. We decided that with a baby (who’s got the sniffles) it would prolly be best if we just stayed inside and didn’t go out for dinner. So my hunk of a chef made us dinner at home. It was marvelous! The greatest part was just a few days ago Robby had told me they were having chicken cordon blue for dinner at work and I remember telling him that I wanted that and it sounded sooo good, and guess what I got for dinner? Chicken cordon blue J

I thought it was so sweet that he had remembered that I was talking about it just a few days before and so he made it for our Valentine Dinner. All these little things meant a lot to me especially this Valentine’s Day just for the fact that since having our wee little lad I’ve felt disconnected from my hunk. As most of you with kids can relate and know, you invest so much time into your wee ones (And he’s worth every minute invested!), but mommy and daddy time seems to get lost in the mix. We’ve become excellent at being parents, but we’ve kind of forgotten how to be partners and a couple I think. And yesterday being all about love and showing your love really helped me see how much Robby still cares for me and how much effort he will go through to know that I’m loved.

I’m so thankful for such a man who does so much for bebe and I, and goes to the effort to help my stubborn head know that he still truly does love me!
