Contests, Sewing, and Websites...

The title basically describes my obsessions for the last 2 weeks or so...First off...Contests. If you haven't noticed, my kid is pretty much a doll. I mean he IS one good lookin' kid! And I had been talking to my Mother-In-Law about how he should be entered in practically every cutest baby contest known to man. Well she was actually able to find me a contest to enter him online, "Who's your Valentine?" Though my hunk-a-hunk-a is my ultimate Valentine, this little heart breaker of a 3 month old is my new Valentine.

Just look at that face! Who wouldn't want to be his Valentine!? :)

So for the contest all I had to do was enter a picture of my little hunk and a brief description and wa-la! Well...We actually won! And by we I mean he...But momma gets to reap the rewards, chocolate! I'm still waiting patiently for my free chocolate to come in the mail...

Baby Robby got his picture displayed on their FB webpage all day; bragging rights to all his friends in the future for sure. :)

So, pretty neat! I honestly can't say that at the age of 3 months I had already won a contest. Now, onto Sewing! So ever since having baby Robby I really haven't had the time, strength, stamina, or creativity to do anything in regards to sewing. But going through my wardrobe I noticed ALOT of my skirts are within the following category: dank, dark, black, and dreary. I decided I need to throw out some old and bring in some new; and what better way than to make some new skirts!? For the longest time I have been wanting a zebra printed skirt. I've tried looking for one in stores but I can't really find something I like. So I decided what better way to get what I want than to sew it myself!

Booyah. So simple yet I'm SO excited to wear it!

So in buying the fabric for this skirt I kind of over-shot a wee bit and had a good chunk of fabric left. Now this isn't the first left over material I've accumulated; I've got a whole tote of left over junk. But I really wanted to just do something with this fabric and came up with the idea to make some baby booties. In doing such that sprung to doing a head band to match! I'm thinking of making some little baby pants that match as well...I had a blast making these and can't wait to give them to a friend having a baby girl! SOO cute! :)

The other thing that has sprung my recent creativity and endeavors to create and produce is this little thing called Pinterest....Yah, most of you either have it or know about it but for months and months I have been skeptical and denying myself to familiarize with it. I mean, it sounded so stupid honestly, until I happen to stumble upon my sister-in-law's Pinterest page and realized that it was I'll admit...alright. After my mother-in-law hooking me up with an invite and spending an hour on Pinterest you could say this ultimately describes me:

For real.
